Chai-leh

Ah, chai-leh, or firecrackers, however you want to call it. It's a problem plaguing the school. Moreover, just this morning, our illustrious class was almost incriminated into this sorry crime.

However, in my humble opinion, the lighter that Agan found has little to do with the chai-leh issue, though as a 'normal student', I have no say in the matter. It was the seventh period, and we were all happily enjoying our games of Scrabble, Uno, and Chess, when several minor explosions were heard at the back of our class, outside the window. Then, a resounding 'BOOM' was heard, much to the jubilation of everyone(except maybe a few people). It was quite an uproar, and I would've liked to believe that our floor was locked-down and 5B(the suspect class) was subjected to a spotcheck.

The explosion sort-of made Pn. Pung nauseous, and Mr. Zainol sat in for our class. Prefects were patrolling the floor, and for us, it didn't matter much, as we continued our games of Scrabble, Uno, and Chess. The recent string of incidents involving 'chai-leh' are probably causing some hoo-ha in the SJS administration. And this wouldn't do well for our prefects either, as it is giving them a bad image. I would analogize this current situation as something akin to the search for Jack the Ripper. The London police were quite as baffled as our prefects are, and the major difference is that nobody got murdered.

Word is there will be daily spotchecks until the end of school next week. Clearly the situation has indeed become dire. And now, it's reminder time:
1)Chemistry Essays, the one we've copied on Wednesday; mine's half-done, and I suppose many of you couldn't be bothered with it as well.
2)For y'all wool-gatherers, you'd better hand up your SPM registration forms and cough up your dough, and photostated ICs, too.

Oh, and the PM's wife has passed away today. A tragedy, indeed. It's been an eventful day.

its the implication it brings. lighter = lighting aboms/smoking. In school, those are both strictly prohibited. But yeah who cares right. "it ain't that bad" hoh.
